Santa Clara University, aka SCU and also known as just Santa Clara, is a Jesuit university in Silicon Valley. The University dates back to 1851 and is presently home to around nine thousand graduate and undergraduate students. It is the oldest higher learning institution in the state. It was originally established at its present location next to the Mission Santa Clara de Asis. The Mission predates the founding of the university by around eighty years. The university campus reflects the architectural style of the Mission, known as the Mission Revival Architecture.
